AMANDA LEAR: BRIEF ENCOUNTERS : GAY ICON: DIVA

Amanda Lear finally releases some more new material for fans. After an all new album of covers and jazz standards in 2006, 'With Love', and 'Brand New Love Affair' in 2009, Amanda Lear has released 'Brief Encounters' and 'Brief Encounters Reloaded ( Les Remixes)' for 2010. The acclaimed single 'Someone Else's Eyes', has been remixed by Boy George for May release. The original video for that single can be seen on Youtube.

AMANDA LEAR Pt 2: THE EXTRAORDINARY LIFE (b Nov 18 1939) Model, Dali's muse, Euro Disco Queen, Author, Artist

Beautiful Amanda Lear rumored to have been born a boy, became female performance artist Peki D'Oslo in the late 50's, at Le Crazy Horse Saloon. Was a top model in Europe and swinging London in the 60's. Became surrealist legend Salvador Dali's muse, he paid for her sex change in Casablanca, or so the legend goes. Something she denies to this day. Then Miss Lear became a rock groupie, had boyfriends Brian Jones, David Bowie and Bryan Ferry. Appeared in the Bowie clip 'Sorrow' and wore black satin on a famous Roxy Music album cover. In the 70's and 80's Miss Lear became a huge international Euro Disco Queen releasing several hit albums including the singles 'Blood and Honey', 'The Queen of China Town' and 'Follow Me'. She regularly toured the clubs and appeared on European TV. She wrote 'MY LIFE WITH DALI' now very rare and out of print, released more albums, hosted an Italian chat show, and danced into the night at Studio 54 with the Jet Set. She continued to paint, showing her work at popular galleries. In 2010 she released a new album at the age of 70, and has never looked back. The character Patsy Stone in Absolutely Fabulous, played by Joanna Lumley, is loosely based on Miss Lear's glamourous life.
