Thoughts: Jan 30 2010
Only one more week and he will be home from Paris. bisous bisous.....how is it in Paris I wonder....as beautiful as he tells me. At least he is posting more photos of the older part of the city, cobblestone laneways and haunting buildings. Art shows...meeting eccentric people, pretty boys everywhere....I cannot stand this another minute....time goes past so slowly....I can't sleep...I can't breathe. Oh for some culture in my life....

The European style Fujiya Hotel has been a picturesque favorite since 1878, with famous guests that included Charlie Chaplin, and John Lennon and Yoko Ono. (see photo from Hotel's archives) Currently it consists of five major buildings, 1400 feet above sea level. The main building is distinguished by its Western construction combined with a tile roof and Japanese style gables. In 1906 two Victorian style cottages were added. After the great earthquake of 1923 the buildings were repaired and restored. by 1930 the great dining room was added. The hotel has a pool behind it (not in use when we were there) golf course, tearooms, sauna and indoor pool, quaint shops, and its own museum.
