ANDY WARHOL'S FACTORY BOYS: Post 7: STICKY FINGERS COVER: JOE DALLESANDRO SUPERSTAR: Post 6

Andy Warhol at a party once said to Mick Jagger, how great it would be to have a real working zipper on an album cover. This became a reality when The Rolling Stones 9th studio album 'Sticky Fingers' was released. In 2003 it was listed as Rolling Stone magazines #63 Greatest Album of all time. Conceptualized by Warhol and designed by Craig Braun, the cover shot photographed by Warhol, was of a well hung young man, in very tight blue denim jeans, with an actual zipper, that opened to reveal white briefs underneath. Warhol photographed several 'factory boys' for the cover, and never revealed who was used for the final shot. Many assumed at the time it was Mick Jagger, but legend has long confirmed that it actually is Joe Dallesandro. Joe himself believes it is himself on the cover, and Andy's longtime lover Jed Johnson in jockey shorts on the inside. Its rumored Andy had Joe arouse himself for the shoot to look more horny and reminiscent of his days as a male hustler only a few years before. Most people today accept that its Joe Dallesandro on the cover, as he was Andy's superstar at the time, and lusted after by all. Jed Johnson denied it was himself on the cover. Other's thought to have been photographed for the cover were Jed's twin brother Jay, and factory artist Cory Tippin.
